World leader in the development and production of cadmium-free quantum dots

Nanoco's colour pots

Founded in 2001, Nanoco is a world leader in the development and production of cadmium-free quantum dots (CFQD® quantum dots) and other nano-materials for use in multiple applications including lighting, LCD displays, solar cells and bio-imaging. Nanoco is partnering with Marl to bring the world's first CFQD® quantum dot-based LED lighting products to market in a range of applications including commercial and industrial (e.g., retail and architecture) and horticulture.

"While recent advancements in LED lighting are remarkable, the technology still struggles with replicating colour and inducing unwanted glare," said Torsten Schanze, General Manager, Lighting at Nanoco. "Our unique CFQD® quantum dot technology enables enhanced colour performance in LED lighting. Because the dots are easily fine-tuned to the desired colour by simply adjusting their size, this offers lighting manufacturers an efficient and cost-effective way to tailor their solutions while also relieving any concerns of toxicity. We are proud to partner with Marl to bring these breakthrough solutions to market."

Nanoco and Marl will be showcasing four product lines based on Nanoco's CFQD® quantum dot film technology during November's LuxLive and Strategies in Light Conferences in London, including (details of what will be displayed). Based on the valuable feedback Nanoco will get during the event, the company will continue to push the limits of colour perfection in the lighting space.
