025 Series (LUMARLED)
Marl International developed the LUMARLED in partnership with London Underground to replace unreliable filament lamps in tunnel signal heads.
The products had to replace the optical performance of existing incandescent lamps used in the signal heads, and Marl was able to offer a design solution which fully matched the existing colour and focal point requirements. The use of Marl LED technology gave London Underground added benefits in reduced maintenance and power costs, reduced service disruption and increased safety. High intensity LED's in a choice of three different colours were selected to satisfy the existing optical requirements of this application and the LUMARLED is fully sealed to IP67 to protect against water and dust ingress. LUMARLED has guaranteed life of 5 years and is currently used extensively on London Underground lines. Datasheet (PDF) |

084 Series (Buffer Stop Light / Barrow Crossing Indicator)
This LED bulkhead replacement product has a multitude of applications, including use as a traffic signal on industrial sites and a hazard warning indicator for use on machinery and scaffolding. The unit has also been fully approved by Railtrack (Network Rail) for use as a buffer stop light on the UK rail network.
A combination of outstanding reliability and optical performance , plus a vandal and weather resistant housing (sealed to IP64) offers customers a cost-effective, fit and forget solution to indication problems. Many direct benefits can be realised by upgrading incandescent sources to LED technology in these demanding applications, including huge improvements in reliability, reduced service disruption, reduced maintenance costs and lower power consumption. The above benefits offer the customer significant reductions in overall lifetime cost and increased user confidence. 238 Series
Marl International Limited's 238 series of bi-polar filament replacement bulbs are delivering significant benefits in rail signaling applications. The LED lamps feature a substantially longer life than traditional filament technology products, effectively providing a fit & forget solution.
Because the T6.8 slide base lamps last longer (typically over 100,000 hours) the contribute to an overall maintenance costs, inventory levels and abatements which can run into £1000's per minute. They are much less susceptible to vibration and shock - a major issue in rail signal indication - and also operate at a lower current, leading to savings in power consumption and a reduction in heat generated. 238 Series lamps are available flat topped for broad illumination, or with a dome, which enables light to be projected down a light tube for signal point illumination. They have a slide base fitting and are suitable for use in both AC and DC supply. They are also 'flicker free' when operating from an AC voltage. Distinct colour definition aids instant recognition by the signal operator - a critical safety factor. 238 LED filament replacement bulbs are part of a wide selection of LED products for signaling and lighting applications from Marl, may of which Rail authority approval, or are currently in the process of being approved. 255 Series
The latest innovation from Marl is the SOLO range of filament bulb replacements. Unique circuitry allows this bi-polar device to be used at any voltage between 8 and 48V whether the supply voltage is AV or DC. This allows the user to reduce their stock holding and inventory costs, eliminated and potential confusion over polarity and problems caused by voltage spikes.
