Mechatronics / Electronic / Mechanical Engineers

We are looking to recruit Mechatronics, Electronic and Mechnical Engineers to support core sales business and projects.   Marl has a very strong brand and impressive forward order book for an exciting range of indication products and ruggedized intelligent lighting solutions, stretching into the 2040s.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Research, Design, Development and Product Support
  • Support existing product ranges dealing with design changes, cost reduction and obsolescence
  • Mechanical, optical and electronic design of new products and systems in line with the Marl PDA system 
  • Materials and components research and selection for new products
  • Design for manufacture
  • Design to defined budgets and timescales
  • Teamwork with other design team members
  • Interface and assistance to other departments within Marl as required
  • Project management of assigned projects

The Role

  • Day to day mechanical and electrical design and development work
  • Production of Solidworks models and drawings
  • COSMOS model analysis 
  • Component selection
  • Production support
  • Project management of the Product Development Process
  • Research, development and test activities
  • Opportunity to support and integrate with Sales, Production Engineering and Customers

Business Administration Apprentice

An exciting opportunity to join the team at Marl International Limited as an Apprentice Administration Assistant whilst working towards a Diploma in Business Administration at Level 3 delivered by Furness College.

Responsibilities

  • Providing a wide range of administration support to the Team
  • Using Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook) to create documents, letters, spreadsheets etc.
  • Using a variety of computer systems to log and retrieve information on Solvitt and Sage 200 (full training provided)
  • Maintaining accurate records on systems
  • Making and answering calls, taking messages or directing calls to the relevant person 
  • Handing post, filing, photocopying and other general office duties
  • Departmental support 
  • Additional duties as required by the Company
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE grades at C or above
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE grades at 4 or above
  • Grades must include functional skills – English, Maths and IT

Hours

  • 08.00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 13:00 Friday
  • Including one full day a week at College

Training

Whilst on your apprenticeship you will work towards the Level 3 Business Administrator Standard as well Functional Skills in Maths and English (where required).  You can expect to receive 20% off the job training – this is time spent completing your course work during your paid, contracted hours.  This can be time spent in College or away from your work station, to minimise disruption.  It can also include any professional development you complete as part of your role.
