This month we talked to Olivia Mawson, who is currently completing a Business Admin Apprenticeship in Sales & Marketing.
Olivia has now been with Marl for just over a year; and has been a great asset to the team. When Olivia joined the team she had just completed her first year at sixth form, found it wasn't quite for her, and decided she was ready to start working full-time. During her first six months at Marl Olivia spent time getting to know customers from across the globe, assisted the Marketing team, attended the Southern Manufacturing Exhibition in Farnborough, and worked hard on gaining her NVQ qualification.
In September this year Olivia took on the role of Sales Order Processing, implementing our new paperless system, helping to train her colleagues and taking ownership of the system.
When Olivia is not in the office she loves to travel, both in the UK and abroad, and is looking forward to restarting her adventures soon.
We talked to Olivia about her role:
"My typical working day involves processing purchase orders, dealing with customer enquiries regarding their orders, sending order acknowledgments to customers, and dealing with and directing incoming calls.
I'm proud to have taken on the new responsibility of Sales Order Processing, my role has changed after being furloughed during the summer, and I'm enjoying the new challenge of doing all SOP for Marl.
In my opinion, the best thing about working at Marl is that every day is different; after only a year I have my own tasks and responsibilities which has helped me to improve my skills."
