Meet Louise Collins, Accounts Assistant here at Marl, who keeps the accounting cogs turning!
Louise moved from Kent to Ulverston over 6 years ago, starting her career at Marl soon after. Louise initially worked as a Store Assistant in our Stores Department, and helped to implement the barcoding system for stock items, before she moved across to join the Accounts team.
A valuable asset to the team, nothing is ever too much trouble for Lou; she assists the team in any way she can and is always cheerful in doing so!
We asked Louise to tell us more about herself and her role:
Name: Louise Collins
Hobbies: The great outdoors, the great indoors of country pubs, drinking red wine and good food!
Previous Departments at Marl: Stores
Favourite part of the job: Ticking off my to do list each day, and getting the job done!
I worked in financial office based roles throughout my whole working career, working in a cash office for a department store and as a data clerk for Deloitte.
My day starts with checking my emails and updating the cash books, I complete banking spreadsheets, post the cash books, deal with email and phone enquiries, credit control. My role varies depending on what day of the month it is; the start of the month would include month end duties such as stock adjustments report, and the end of the month would involve more credit control.
One of my biggest achievements during my time at Marl has been completing my AAT qualification, an achievement of which I am very proud.
