Undeterred by snowy conditions, MARL CNC accepted delivery this week of a new Hurco VM20i vertical milling machining centre, expanding the capacity and capability of the tool room.

The 3-axis machining centre contains a table size of 1168x508mm, spindle speed of up to 12000 rpm and spindle torque of up to 98.8 Nm @ 1450 RPM.

Weighing in at 4100kg, Hurco’s VM20i has a relatively small footprint and a large work cube due to its efficient design, packing a lot of productivity into a small space.

On the scheduled delivery day we all woke up in the area greeted by a layer of snow which was coming down thick and fast during most of the morning, raising the question of whether we could go ahead with receiving the machine as scheduled.  However, both Russell Transport and MARL were up to the challenge and with the application of some grit and determination, the machine was successfully lifted into the premises and moved into place!
